Dynamic Speed Signs enable motorway projects to vary the temporary speed limit in response to changing conditions and operational requirements

This means that it is possible for road users to benefit from reduced journey times during off-peak operations, whilst the workforce are protected by a lower speed limit during working hours or incidents.

The signs are rapidly deployable and can operate autonomously, not requiring main power or other hardwired communication networks.

Through HRS’s secure geozone control system intellizone, signs can be managed separately or in groups, allowing for different phases of works and providing granular control across the entire site.

All signs are monitored in real-time, providing an objective audit trail and accurate data for future planning.

  • Operate a 60mph speed limit when it is deemed safe to do so
  • Operate a 50mph speed limit when there is peak site activity
  • Operate a 40mph speed limit when there is a breakdown or other type of incident
  • Enable flexibility during the commissioning phase (e.g. to allow early all-lane running)

Features

  • Able to display 3 different sign diagrams
  • Gross weight 45kg, mountable on A- frame or concrete post (trigger and repeater available)
  • Integrated solar power with back-up battery
  • IoT platform provides full reporting and condition monitoring system
