Intellicone Smart Closure Incursion Warning System hailed as lifesaving on the A21

Unauthorised vehicle incursions into temporary working areas are one of the most dangerous hazards of working on roads, putting both road workers and road users at risk of injury.

A21 Resurfacing Project is an example of critical importance when a few seconds can lead to a different outcome. With briefings and safety plans prior to works, HRS’ Smart Closure Incursion Warning System is more than an additional safety measure for the teams present on site.

With HRS’ incursion prevention systems, motorists are deterred from entering sites by a loud alarm that is triggered if the temporary traffic management is breached. Teams on site are also alerted instantly to the potential breach via an audio-visual warning emitted by the Portable Site Alarms, giving them valuable time to reach a place of safety.

By having a robust emergency plan in place and the correct equipment to underpin that plan, we were able to ensure the safety of everyone at work that evening.”
